Northfield's school has an afternoon and morning nursery, which has 30 places available in each session for children aged between 3 and 4. We hold open sessions twice a year for prospective parents to visit the nursery and then have an informative Parent Meeting once your child has been allocated a place in our Nursery.
The Hertfordshire County Council on line admission system is now available at herts direct website (see link below) and this provides all information for prospective parents who are looking for a Nursery place for their child. You should use the online system to make applications prior to the deadline. If you do not have access to the Internet please come and speak to the School Office who will be happy to help. Places will be allocated by School in accordance with the policy and criteria guided by Hertfordshire County Council. Children are allocated part-time places in the Nursery, entering in the September of the school year where they are 4, a total of 15 hours will be allocated and these hours will be for either 5 mornings or 5 afternoons per week.
Northfield's Infants is a two form entry school from reception to year 2 with 60 places available in each year. All children will move from the Nursery to Reception in the September.
In the school year your child becomes 4, HCC will contact parents with information regarding Reception Applications. At this time you may state your preferences for Infant schooling and allocations will be made by Hertfordshire County Council. If your child attends our Nursery this does not necessarily give you preference for a place in our Reception – applications must be made for a Reception place and the places will be allocated by HCC in accordance with their policy and criteria.
Parents who are considering applying for a place at the school can contact the school secretary. We can arrange a visit with the Head Teacher or a member of staff who will show you around the school and be able to answer any questions you may have.
