Out of School Clubs
Each term school clubs take place for an hour after school. KS1 children suggest clubs they would like and school staff offer a variety of options.
Clubs are charged at £1 per week
This facility is not offered to the Reception children as it is considered that they have worked hard during the day and need to go home to relax and finish homework.
Every Monday ten very keen gardeners stay after school to work outside around the school grounds.
We have our very own growing area and this year we have grown carrots, potatoes, spring onions, peas, red and green peppers, rhubarb, strawberries, raspberries, blackcurrants, apples, pears and sunflowers.
At the beginning of the club there is a £10 cost to attend the club. This covers any resources which will be brought during the time the club will run.
We work closely with Arch Community Group and look out for free resources offered to schools to support our gardening club.
In 2015 & 2016 we won the Arch Community Group Scarecrow Competition and we went to RHS Hampton Court Flower Show to exhibit our scarecrows.
We also won lots of prizes in LDGA Summer and Autumn shows, including First Prize for our collage and 2nd Prize for our vegetable display.
In December 2016 we raised funds for our gardening club by making Xmas decorations from natural materials and planting hyacinths and decorating the pots.
We are looking forward to growing more in 2017
