School Aim / Ethos

The school is dedicated to educating the 'whole child', thus enabling all our children to feel valued, reach their full potential and take their proper place in society.

 

The aims of Northfields Infants and Nursery School
 To provide exciting and appropriately challenging activities within a broad and balanced
curriculum, so that each child is happy, motivated and enabled to achieve his/her full potential
 To create an environment where children feel respected, safe and valued
 To provide a caring, secure and inclusive environment that recognises and caters for the needs
of pupils, staff and parents
 To promote a lively, enquiring approach to learning, encouraging in the children self-respect,
independence and the ability to work co-operatively and develop P4C (Philosophy for Children)
skills
 To maintain a positive approach to behaviour management, encouraging high standards
 To instil respect for religious and moral values with an understanding and acceptance of all
races, religions and cultures
 To promote respect for our own and others’ property and the environment in which we live
 To achieve these aims through an effective partnership with the family and wider community
 To develop pupils life skills introducing economic well-being through a range of activities

 

Northfields Infants and Nursery School will endeavour to:
