Milk can be ordered at the end of each term for the following term from the school office and must be paid for in advance. Children entitled to free school meals and some children who are under 5 maybe entitled to free school milk. However milk will only be ordered for those who have requested it. If you are unsure please contact the school office. If your child does not like milk, water is always available in the classroom. Please do not send in alternative drinks for mid-morning break.
Under European Community Regulation we must tell you that milk is provided at reduced prices as a result of E.C. subsidy and that milk is good for your child.
If you do have to take your child out of school during term time we ask that you complete a holiday request form.
These are available from the school office or in the Parents section under letters.
The Government strongly discourages the taking of holidays during the working school time. Any absence means your child is missing valuable learning time.
Recent changes to legislation make it clear that Head Teachers no longer have the discretion to allow up to 10 days in a school year for a family holiday or to agree to extended leave for parents to visit their country of origin. We are also not able to grant any leave of absence during term time unless there are exceptional circumstances.
Absence due to illness
If it is unavoidable for your child to miss school (illness) you must telephone or call in to the office giving the reason for absence by 9:15am.
If no reason is given or the reason is unacceptable, then your child will be given an ‘Unauthorised Absence’ mark in the register.
